Following the latest phase 2 government advice and AGB advice for Phase 2 - to minimise social contact and avoid shooting in groups. The Spelthorne Archery committee has agreed that for the safety of all concerned we now postpone all training activities for the rest of 2020.
All course dates will be moved to 2021 and taster sessions scheduled in 2020 will be scheduled in 2021 in due course. In addition, existing individual course place reservations for 2020 will be moved across to 2021, and we will contact people on the lists directly to confirm if they want to retain the place for 20201 in due course..
Refunds or vouchers will be offered for those that have pre-paid. If you wish to confirm or make a new reservation of a place on a 2021 course or session, or have any other questions, please contact the training officer at the address below.
For 2021 our courses will as usual be:-
Suitable for 8 years old and upwards - (parents must accompany children under 18).
In 2021 four beginner's courses will be organised and there is a choice of training on a Tuesday evening from 5:45 pm to ~8pm for 4 consecutive Tuesday sessions at a cost of £65 per person for the 4 sessions.
Alternatively training can be done more intensively on a Sunday afternoon in 3 consecutive sessions from 3pm-5:45pm for £65 per person for the 3 sessions.
A junior can take the course providing at least 1 parent also takes the course with them, or attends to supervise them.
Course Dates (limited to 10 participants) will be confirmed in detail at the start of 2021 but we expect them to be held in 2021 on:
Sunday 18th April for 3 weeks 3pm – 5:45pm
Tuesday 18th May for 4 weeks 5:45 – 8pm
Tuesday 6th July for 4 weeks 5:45 – 8pm
Sunday 15th August for 3 weeks 3pm – 5:45 pm
All equipment instruction and light refreshments are provided. A certificate is awarded on completion of the course.If after completing the training sessions, you feel you would like to take up archery and join the club, we will provide an extra one week informative training session, to ensure that you are familiar with all the club rules and procedures for using the range and equipment safely. (£10 for the additional week.) This amount will then be deducted from the joining fee, when you become a full Spelthorne Archers member.
